Professional Chiropractic In Leeds

First visit to Roundhay Chiropractic Clinic

Your Chiropractor will greet you in the reception area and take you through to their treatment room. They will then ask you about your particular problem, your past medical history, any accidents and work posture. All your details will be handled with the strictest confidence. We will establish an overall health picture to ensure that chiropractic care is appropriate for you. If chiropractic appears to not be suitable, you will be referred to your G.P. or a relevant specialist.

We will do an initial examination which concentrates on the neuromuscular skeletal system (nerves, muscles and joints) and involves an analysis of posture, palpation and movement of the spine and other joints.  After the initial consultation and examination we write up your case and get them back in for a Report of Findings session were everything is explained and then they will get some treatment.

Based on these findings, we can assess whether any additional investigations are necessary, including blood tests, x-rays or MRI/CT scans, before treatment. X-ray facilities are available within the clinic and if necessary can be performed at this stage.

Our first concern is to find out what is wrong with you and check for signs of any serious underlying disorder for which you would need to be referred to your GP. After reviewing all the information gathered in the consultation and examination, we will be able to give you a diagnosis and prognosis, except when further investigation is necessary.

We will explain to you what is wrong with you, what can be done about it, how much treatment the chiropractor estimates that you will require, and the likely cost to undergo the full recommended treatment plan.

We will also advise you on changes to your lifestyle and/or working environment where appropriate, as well as show you how to perform relevant exercises safely.

Your chiropractor will be able to advise you on the chances of recurrence of your condition, and may suggest maintenance care and/or rehabilitation exercises to cut down this risk.

On most occasions treatment will not be given on your first visit. If not, postural and pain relief advice will always be given. Follow-up treatments are made by appointment and will generally last 15 minutes. We endeavour to keep to time but emergencies and patients in acute pain may cause us to run late and we thank you for your patience when this happens. When booking treatment appointments, it’s important to consider that chiropractic treatment is most effective when sessions are placed close together, as opposed to the same number of sessions but further apart.
